This year we are joining the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) by launching San Diego's First Older Driver Awareness Week December 7- 11, 2015. We'll be offering the Safer Driver Program free of charge to the community in three free countywide sessions.

 

In the next 25 years, 10,000 Americans will turn age 65 every day and the fastest growing group are adult age 85-90. As a family member, friend, and neighbor you are either an aging driver, know an aging driver, or will be an aging driver.

 

The Safer Driver Program will be presented by Judi Bonilla and will offer information, advice, and resources to improve driver safety and knowledge about all senior transportation services in San Diego. In addition, the program will also include strategies for preparing a  driving retirement plan. For information and reservations contact 619.742.3368.

 

"I encourage older adults to attend the program to find out how to extend their ability to drive safely. I encourage the adult children and grandchildren of older adults to attend and learn how to help their loved ones stay active and connected in the community," said Judi Bonilla.
